So why do I call this the "Pro Class"? When the age limit was opened for ALL ages one of the main reasons used was that this level is like a professional level of sport. You know, like the NFL, NBA, MBL, and NHL. Since they consider themselves as professionals, I believe they should be treated as such. The performers just don't get paid like the NFL, NBA, MBL, and NHL....ya know...I even think they have to pay to be considered a professional. What's up with that?

Okay, so this "elite" division had as much to offer as the others, so I'll just hit a few that stood out for me.
Let me start off with Fantasia. Well performed, but the design was a flashback of EM Einstein's Dream to me. Otherwise, well performed. Signature had a concept and used it to the fullest, including the floor. They gave a true interpretation for us of what it would be like to be backstage waiting to perform. Lake Erie Regiment played the "ribbon" card for points. They seemed to think the bigger the ribbon the bigger the score. Premonition had som good tricks. Effervescence was very radical, but I hope they had fun. Croatan still delivers true beauty on the floor. Pride of Cincinnati didn't have any trouble accomplishing it's goal of bringing a pretty, entertaining show to WGI. See, you don't have to be a standup stringy freak. Maybe to WGI Judges you do, but to moi'...nah. This one was one of my 3 goosebump shows of the event. I didn't want to take my eyes off of the Santa Clara Vanguard. With every breath they took, I felt the need to gasp with pleasure. After one of my most favorite shows last year, Blessed Sacrament went backwards in design with a high school concept that hasn't been done that long ago. If this is the direction you choose to go, maybe you should think about an all-female guard again. From the state that can't count ballots, comes a show endorsed by Rush. The Knights, with one of those Florida floors, concept was "It's Your Right". Keeping that in mind, try to remember it's my right to dislike this show, especially the narration. And to think these professional performers chose to participate. Then, just being them, is Braddock Independent. All I can ask is, don't try to be any one else like you have done in the past. Remain true to yourself, because that is what we, the fans, love about you! I realize that sometimes the judges of WGI may not look fondly upon your type of expression, but if you're anything like me, you'll see that it's more important to your own well being that matters. I just believe that your well being is to entertain, which I appreciate! The most layered design came from Corona. From costume, to floor, to flags, to rifles (don't use black against black Silly), there was always something going on. The only inspiration I got from it was to see it again for the tricks. A memorial is something designed to preserve the memory of a person or event as a monument or holiday. A memorial is not a way to score points with WGI judges, even though it works on them. A tribute can be more tasteful when recognized as such. Zydeco seemed to go the route of scoring points by using vocals in a tasteless manner. What could have been a beautiful tribute with a black floor and just the music was ruined for me with the thought of satisfying an organization that rewards tasteless acts of design. This one I can't forget soon enough.

Why is it sometimes that staff members are the only ones clapping and yelling while the audence is trying to enjoy the performance?

I've found that shows with a so-called message or a memorial are more for the judges than the audience. Lately these types of shows tend to be offensive. Allow me to offer those of you who are attempting to be profound but are too young to be aware of a show that was just that, the year was 1992 and Emerald Marquis did Amazing Grace. It was a statement and a memorial all in one. One of the best ever performances and designs!
